Week-by-Week Course Plan

Week 1

  • What is Digital Marketing and why it’s important in 2025
  • Key marketing channels: Search Engines, Social Media, Paid Ads, Content Marketing, and more
  • The difference between organic and paid marketing
  • Overview of how businesses use these channels to achieve goals
  • Real-world examples of campaigns
  • Importance of knowing your audience before marketing
  • Defining buyer personas (age, gender, location, interests, problems)
  • Research methods: online surveys, social media insights, competitor analysis
  • Tools for audience research (Google Trends, Meta Insights, etc.)
  • What is a brand and why it matters
  • Building a brand identity: logo, colors, fonts, tone of voice
  • Creating a value proposition (why customers should choose you)
  • Writing brand messages that connect with your target audience

Practical activity:
students create a brand message for a sample business

Week 2 — Social Media & Content Marketing

  • Overview of major platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X (Twitter), YouTube
  • Choosing the right platform based on audience and goals
  • Understanding algorithm basics and engagement rules
  • Different types of social media strategies (awareness, engagement, conversion)
  • Types of content: images, videos, reels, stories, carousels, blogs
  • Best practices for creating scroll-stopping content
  • Introduction to free and paid tools (Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express)
  • Scheduling tools: Buffer, Meta Business Suite, Later, etc.
  • Practical activity: create a social post in Canva and schedule it
  • The importance of two-way communication with followers
  • How to reply to comments and DMs to build relationships
  • Strategies to grow followers organically (collaborations, hashtags, challenges)
  • Avoiding spammy growth tactics that harm your brand

Week 3 — Paid Advertising & SEO

  • Difference between paid and organic reach
  • How Google Ads work (Search Ads, Display Ads, YouTube Ads)
  • How Facebook & Instagram Ads work (campaign structure: campaign > ad set > ad)
  • Creating simple ad campaigns for both platforms
  • Understanding audience targeting options
  • Setting realistic ad budgets based on goals
  • Understanding CPC, CPM, CTR, and conversion metrics
  • Tracking ad results with Google Analytics and Meta Ads Manager
  • Making data-driven decisions to improve campaigns
  • What is SEO and why it’s important
  • Difference between On-Page SEO, Off-Page SEO, and Technical SEO
  • How search engines rank websites
  • Keyword research tools: Google Keyword Planner, Ubersuggest, Ahrefs (free features)

Practical activity:

Week 4 — LinkedIn Marketing

  • Why LinkedIn is essential for professionals and businesses
  • Step-by-step profile optimization: headline, about section, profile photo, banner, experience, skills
  • Using keywords in your profile to appear in searches
  • Crafting a professional summary that attracts opportunities
  • Types of content that perform well on LinkedIn (personal stories, industry insights, tips, videos)
  • Writing engaging captions that start conversations
  • Posting frequency and timing for maximum reach
  • Using hashtags, tagging people, and joining LinkedIn groups
  • Finding and connecting with relevant professionals and decision-makers
  • Sending personalized connection requests and messages
  • Using LinkedIn search filters for lead generation
  • Basics of LinkedIn Sales Navigator (intro only)
  • How to build long-term professional relationships through engagement

Week 5 — Freelancing in Digital Marketing

  • Understanding freelancing opportunities in digital marketing
  • Choosing the right freelancing platforms
  • Step-by-step profile creation and optimization
  • Writing a strong profile description that attracts clients
  • Choosing the right services to offer
  • Why a portfolio matters even for beginners
  • How to create sample projects to showcase skills
  • Writing winning proposals for job postings
  • Common mistakes to avoid when applying for projects
  • Practical activity: write a proposal for a sample client
  • How to set competitive but profitable pricing
  • Negotiating with clients professionally
  • Effective communication to avoid misunderstandings
  • Delivering quality work on time and getting repeat business
  • Handling feedback and revisions gracefully
